Top 7 Toro Cigars

The Toro format has been a beloved cigar size for years. In a Cigar Aficionado survey, sales of Toros outstripped the ever-popular Robusto not long ago. The original Cuban dimensions for a Toro are 5.375 inches by a 46-ring gauge, but today’s standard Toros are bigger at 6 inches or longer with a 50 or 52 ring gauge. Some Toros are a touch thinner; others are thicker with a 54-ring gauge. Regardless of exact measurements, the Toro size is tremendously appealing because many cigar lovers view it as, in the words of Goldilocks, “just right.” Here are the top 7 Toros you should try without hesitation.

1. Ashton Double Magnum (6 x 50)

Tasting notes of cedar, almond, coffee bean, and cashew precede a milky finish with a touch of spice in a prestigious profile sold in over 75 countries.

Since its debut in 1995, Opus X has set the benchmark for full-bodied Dominican taste and aroma with its well-aged Dominican tobaccos, including an exclusive Cuban-seed Shade Grown wrapper harvested on the Chateau de la Fuente estates. The all-Nicaraguan blend is drawn from well-aged binder and filler tobaccos and an oily Sun Grown wrapper leaf grown on Garcia family farms.
