Best Cigars to Pair With Jameson Whiskey

When we think of Irish whiskey, most of us stop at Jameson. It’s the bestselling Irish whiskey in the world and the third bestselling whiskey period. Ironically, the man whose name is on the bottle, John Jameson, hailed from Scotland in the town of Alloa in the Central Lowlands. Jameson was the son-in-law of the founder of the Bow Street Distillery in Dublin where the whiskey was first made. The distillery was founded in 1780. Jameson took possession of it 1805 and renamed it the John Jameson and Son Irish Whiskey Company in 1810. Surprisingly, the first bottles of Jameson weren’t sold until 1968. Jameson was only sold by the cask for close to two centuries. Today, of the 56 million bottles of Jameson produced annually, ninety percent are exported.
