Smoke a Single Cigar Before You Buy a Box

First of all, don’t buy a full box of cigars unless you know you like them. It’s tempting to make an impulse purchase when a box of cigars goes on sale or the blend gets a high rating, but you’re better off smoking a single cigar before you buy them in quantity. If you don’t like the blend, the sale is irrelevant. Smoke one or two cigars before you decide to buy an entire box. You don’t want to have a humidor full of cigars that you don’t enjoy after you’ve spent your hard-earned money on them.

What Can You Return?

You can return cigars and any merchandise purchased from Holt’s within 30 days if you are not 100% satisfied. If you bought a box of cigars, you may return them for a full refund within 30 days after smoking one cigar. If you have smoked more than one cigar, you may return them and will receive credit or a refund for the amount of cigars returned minus shipping costs.

Can You Return Cigars You Did Not Like?

Within 30 days, you can return cigars that you are not 100% satisfied with, even if you didn’t like the taste, for a full credit or refund after you have tried one cigar. If you have tried more than one cigar, we will issue a credit or refund for the amount of cigars returned minus any shipping costs. Returns are only accepted with the original cellophane intact.

Cigars That You Received as Gifts

We only accept returns from verified Holt’s customers. If you want to return cigars you received as a gift, they must be returned by the purchaser. Holt’s does not offer credit or a refund on cigars that were not originally purchased at Holt’s.

Don’t Return Cigars You Have Cut or Smoked

We cannot accept returns on cigars that have been cut or partially smoked. If you’re experiencing a quality issue like a plugged cigar or a cigar that’s burning unevenly, you’re welcome to speak with one of our customer service experts, who can help to address or fix common cigar problems.

Damaged Cigars

If your cigars are damaged or defective, you can return them for a full credit or refund. Returns must be received at Holt’s within 30 days of purchase. We will issue a full credit or refund after we confirm that the issues you’re experiencing originated on our behalf.

Smoke a second cigar before you send them back.

Age Your Cigars

Another solution is to age your cigars. Some cigars improve noticeably after resting in a humidor. Cigars mellow out after several weeks, and you might find the flavor is more enjoyable after you’ve aged them. The oils from the wrapper, binder, and filler tobaccos meld over time, resulting in a cohesive profile. Many connoisseurs intentionally age their cigars like fine wine.

Give the Cigars Away to Friends
